Criminal justice.
Provided advisory support to a consortium of new market entrants seeking to participate within the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Prison Operator Services Framework (POSF).
Collaborated with the leading prison education operator in England and Scotland, to successfully design, bid and win £299m of MoJ Prison Education Service contracts and a £17m+ education contract within a Youth Offender Institution.
Completed a six-month lived-experience project (Making Good Neighbours, 2023), working directly with serving prisoners, education teams and prison officers in a failing Category C prison to co-design a modernised education and resettlement offer ahead of future MoJ commissioning.
Worked with a Women's Support Alliance (9 women's centres) to secure Greater Manchester Combined Authority funding for women-only, trauma-informed services for women in contact with the criminal justice system.
Provided advisory support to a Devon based mental health charity to secure MoJ funding to support serving prisoners in custody, along the probation pathways and through the gate.
Employability.
Supported a Netherlands-based technology company that builds AI-powered tools to help people find jobs, education, and career pathways based on their skills rather than just formal qualifications, to submit their RFP for the DWP Jobs and Careers Pilot.
Supported a consortium of international and UK based operators of flagship DWP employment services, to design and bid for the DWP Youth Jobs Guarantee pilot programme.
Supported a £22m IPS service operator (with excellent fidelity rating) and a leading East Midlands based operator of DWP Restart services, to design and bid for Connect to Work tenders.
Supported a national mental health charity, to expand its regional portfolio of supported employment and in-work support contracts through service design and bidding support.
Supported a $300m international not-for-profit operator focused on improving economic mobility, health, and educational outcomes for disadvantaged populations, to develop a UK employability market entry strategy and preparedness for flagship DWP initiatives e.g. Mid-Life MOT / Connect to Work.
Helped training providers to secure over £300m+ further education funding since 2015.
Supported the social impact arm of a pioneering UK based street magazine and social enterprise during the Refugee Transitions Outcomes Fund and a national refugee charity, to design employment support pathways for newly arrived communities in the UK.
Collaborated with Nesta, through a £5m Career Tech Challenge Fund, by mentoring 12 ed-tech innovators who developed scalable solutions to support workers in precarious sectors.
Education & skills.
Supported the UK team of a USA based operator of innovative education services, with 275+ schools internationally, to codify an alternative education offer to Pupil Referral Units for young people aged 11–16 who are disengaged or excluded from mainstream education across Doncaster (now part of the Fedcap Group).
Supported an innovative charity supporting inclusive democratic education, to design and successfully bid for framework contracts with a local authority in London. Included red team reviews with trustee board members (now part of the Fedcap Group).
Supported a national operator of pre-teacher training programmes, to draft a thought leadership paper and engage in best-practice workshops with the Department for Education (DfE), ahead of the High Potential Initial Teacher Training (HPITT) tender.
Supported a national operator of pre-teacher training programmes, to collaborate with a leading education provider for the High Potential Initial Teacher Training (HPITT) tender (commissioned by the DfE). The contract was retained by the incumbent operator, Teach First.
Supported an Australian operator of education services to bid for the DfE Attendance Mentoring Pilot Expansion (AMPE), as part of a soft-launch UK market entry strategy.
Health & social care.
Led the strategy and investment case development to Big Issue Invest, on behalf of a UK based not-for-profit operator of specialised social care support services, focused on helping vulnerable children, young people and families who have faced neglect, abuse or are at risk of entering the care/criminal justice system.
Supported a national mental health charity operating across a federated structure of 90+ local branches, to secure £100m+ of contracts e.g. workplace mental health, community hubs, wellbeing services, social prescribing, peer recovery support services and safe havens.
Supported a coalition of mental health charities to co-design and establish the Devon Community Mental Health Alliance, a partnership of national and local organisations from VCSE sectors, which aims to make £7.5m of mental health support and advice services across the county more accessible, cost effective and more suited to the needs of their users.
Regularly support the UK's leading national charity helping older people, to maximise the reach and impact of network partners to secure £10m+ income growth e.g. hospital to home discharge services, community wellbeing hubs, dementia cafes and peer support services.
